What Are The Most Common Type Of Braces? Are The Treatment Results Permanent?

A dentist use brace for the most common dental problem, an overbite. This particular problem is cured with braces, and the dentist uses the most common braces, like Block Braces or Twin Block Braces. The brace treatment is ended with a Teeth Whitening session to get a perfect smile.

So, if you have an overbite problem, you will want to solve it. So, you go to a dentist and he set you up with a check-up. If you want an advanced technology check-up, he will present you with x-rays and 3D images of your teeth’ alignment.

Once you understand what you need, he will prescribe you braces. Now, there are many types of braces but Block Bracesare the most common. These are removable braces.  Plus, you can eat and sleep with them. In fact, you should wear them throughout the day. You get these braces for about £500 or more.

Now, sometimes you may find the block ones uncomfortable. So, your dentist changes it to Twin Block Braces. These are equally removable but are more comfortable. The price of this type of braceis around £800. Sometimes, you get them at a discounted price.

However, in both cases, you need to pay for the doctor’s consultation separately. It is about £50. In NHS, a dentist visit is low, about £25. Remember, NHS does not cover dental brace treatments. It is interesting to note, that you need to go to the dentist several times for brace treatment.

The total time required to straighten the teeth is about a year. Sometimes, this can extend up to 2 years. Once, your teeth are aligned, the doctor will give you retainers that you need to wear for 3 months and more.

Invisalign vs braces

But, before you leave the course after the brace treatment, the dentist may suggest a Teeth Whitening session. More so, because, the braces make food stick to your teeth. This in turn, sometimes, creates yellow teeth. So, you may need the whitening session.

The results of these braces are good. But, the Twin ones broaden your jaw. The mechanism of the brace is to broad for your jawline. So, you may see some changes in your face structure. But, in any case, your smile looks great and it is perfect.
